CROWLEY’S TOMB CASTING UPDATES:
Casey Jay Moore, Screenwriter and Producer is very happy to announce actress Lisa Leonard has landed the creepy role as “Bloody Mary”. Film production begins summer of 2017!
Here’s just a taste of whats to come…..
Now let’s get to know Lisa Leonard!!!
Q. It seems fans always want to know what an actor’s process is when preparing for past, or present character roles. Take us through your process when researching, developing and transitioning on the set for your character roles?
A. First I read the script so I can get an idea of the story. I then mark my lines & record them so I can get them memorized as quickly as possible. The quicker I get them memorized, the faster I can start experimenting with my character. I also look on Youtube to see if there are other videos of that character to see how other actors portray them (if the character has been done before) just to get a flow of the role. Then I start researching different looks to get ideas of makeup & different looks I think the character would look like. Once I’ve done this, I create a background story as to why that character turned out like they did.
Q. Who is your favorite actor and why?
A. I’m a big musical theater fan as well as, old movies so my favorite classic stars of the past are Judy Garland, James Stewart. Current stars are Robert Downey, Jr., Meryl Streep, Mandy Patikin & many others.
Q. What would your dream role be? What would you bring to the character?
A. I’ve always wanted to do a voiceover for a full length animated or live action movie. If I was doing a musical, my dream roles would be Mame, Golde from Fiddler on the Roof, any type of fun character role for a fantasy type movie or, a wacky neighbor or, mean villan that you love to hate. 🙂
Q. Do you prefer to play the villain or the hero? Why?
A. It depends on the movie. Villains are more fun to play because they’re more versatile but, I’ve played good guy roles too. I really would have to say both depending on what the role was.
Q. Tell the fans about a fun fact that we might not be aware of.
A. I’ve been tandem skydiving a few years ago & really loved it! Would do it again!
Q. What was the hardest role you’ve ever played and why?
A. It was a mom role on an episode called “Dead of Night” on Discovery ID Channel where my daughter was murdered by her ex boyfriend. I don’t have kids so I took that feeling of grief that I’ve had for loved ones & applied it to the mom role.
Q. On the flip side, what was the most fun role you’ve ever played?
A. Mrs. Potts from the play “Beauty & the Beast” and also the part of Dottie in a comedy film where I played a Southern Boutique owner of a store with misfit employees who I sold to someone else.
Q. Tell us about where you got your training?
A. Graduated with a BA in Music from Stetson University in DeLand, FL where I had classical vocal training. Also took acting classes from a variety of teachers here & attended seminars as well. I also learned from just performing on stage in theatres but, also doing independent films working with many types of people & directors.
Q. What advice would you give to aspiring actors?
A. Don’t give up on your dream & don’t listen to dream stealers! Do what makes you happy.
Q. If not an actor, what profession would you choose to occupy? Why?
A. A Veterinarian because I love animals & wanted to be a vet when I was younger.
