A Moment with Crowley’s Tomb…Troy Williams

I am pleased to announce that actor Troy Williams has landed dual roles such as one of Pushers street gang Thugs” and the Evil Witch Doctor “Mortas”.  Film production begins summer of 2017.

Troy tried to throw us a defensive block, but we ran through with this Q&A:

Q.  Given what you know from the cast & crew posts about CT, what and/or who are you most interested in seeing in the film?

A.  There are so many crazy characters I am excited to see, but I am most excited to see Pusher because he is my boss lol.

Q.  Not yet having seen the script, as an actor how do you prepare/research your role?

A.  As an actor I have done research to learn more about my characters and the film by studying movies with similar characters. I always like to get a good feel and understanding of my character and I feel you can identify quite a bit even without a script. I also watched the trailer to the short film just to get a better idea of everything.

Q.  What is the one thing in this world you are most proud of?

A.  The one thing in this world I am most proud of is being a great husband and father. My wife and kids are my world, they mean everything to me. Everything I do in this world is to provide a better living for them. They are truly my inspiration.

Q.  What was the last really great book you read? Why?

A.  I read many books, I love reading. One of the greatest books I’ve read is “The Slight Edge” by Jeff Olson. This book really drives home the importance of our daily decisions and what kind of impact each individual decision can have on your life over time. This book was a gut check for me, but it really raised my awareness on being as productive as I can be on a daily basis. This book explains why some people fail and why some people succeed.

Q. Have you ever won something?

A.  I did win a championship ring in semi-pro football with my team the Orlando Rage, back in 2012. This was in the Florida Football Alliance (FFA) league. My position was Defensive Back, or what we like to call “DB”. Still to this day, this has been one of my greatest memories. There was a lot of blood, sweat, and tears that went into that. What made it so special is the previous year we went undefeated, but lost in the championship game. I suffered a fracture right hand in that game and it took me a few months to heal and rehab. During this time I was a little depressed and even considered giving up football altogether. I ultimately decided to return and that was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life. We won the championship that year, what an amazing experience it was. My best memory was in the Semi-final playoff game, we were playing from behind the entire game, and it just felt like it was our game to lose. We stayed poised and came together as a team, and when my team needed a big play, I came through with interception/pick 6, which sealed the victory for us. I still remember the feeling; I felt like I was gliding all the way to the touchdown, it was a magical moment. I miss my team and I miss the game, but my focus is acting now.

Q.  What’s a Fear you are proud to have overcome?

A.  A huge fear of mine that I am proud to say I have overcome is public speaking. LOL I know it sounds pretty ironic being an actor, but it’s true. The fear of public speaking held me back from a lot of great things I could have experienced early on in life. The only way to overcome a fear is to face it often, so I continued to put myself in uncomfortable public speaking situations to help me grow as a person. Over time I continued to get better at it, but most importantly I became more comfortable with it. The reality is if I never would have overcome this fear, the world would not see Troy D. Williams as an actor today. I’m glad I overcame that fear LOL.

Q.  Have you ever been told you look like a celebrity? Who? Do you agree?

A.  I get told all the time that I look like celebrities. I get Idris Elba and Don Cheadle most of the time. I don’t really think I look like either of them, but I am grateful for the compliments. It just means I’m on my way!
